Sustainable packaging ideas made from sheep's wool felt

Idea 1: Value packed

Whatever is given as a gift, make it even more precious with this special packaging! Because our Money-Maker felt is full of cash. Real € money chips give it that noble shine and thus also your gift. Simply use it as normal gift wrapping or cut out specific shapes from it to stick onto your wrapping paper. Use natural jute thread to hold everything together.

Idea 2: Make it colourful

Take all the colours of the rainbow and put them together to make a colourful gift box. Cut small circles, rectangles or whatever shape you like from your felt. For example, our gift is for passing a driving test and we also cut out a stack of felt keys. Make a small hole in the middle and tie it all up with a woollen cord or jute twine. Your colourful gift artwork will be the colourful highlight of any party.

Idea 3: Simple elegance

Simple, but with that certain something – you can easily conjure it up with our "Dochtfaden with wire and lurex" wool cord. Wrap the gift with a plain paper of your choice and create glittery moments with the Lurex wool cord. Simply wrap the cord around the gift a few times and tie a knot in the front. You can let the ends hang loosely down. Add a dried flower as a little extra.

Idea 4: For the chick

Looking for a packaging idea to celebrate the birth of a child or a christening? How about a chick made of pink and pale pink felt? Cut out the shape, for example, from our "Klausi Filz" in old pink, and form the feet with the wool cord "Dochtfaden with wire and lurex". This has a wire in the core, which makes it easy to bend and keeps its shape. Or combine a plain felt in pale pink with one in cornflower blue to make a small package. You can tie the bow at the top with the thin wool threads "Smartfaden" in the same colours. Our tip: Make a small flower with the felt wool "Lunte". It will be the eye-catcher par excellence.

Idea 5: Wool flowers

Give free rein to your flowery creativity. You can bend countless shapes with the wool cord "Dochtfaden with wire and lurex". The wire core keeps the cord in exactly the shape you want. Whether roses, buds or flowers in the shape of a star - the wire makes everything possible. The sheep's wool cord with the lurex part is available in numerous colours. You can add leaves to the flowers with plain or two-coloured felt, and the decoration for the gift wrapping is ready.

Decorate with gift tags
You can make hearts, flowers and much more out of felt or with felt cutters. They give your packaging that little bit extra. You can also make tags that can be used as jewellery tags, like the tags in our Christmas packaging below. This way, your sustainable gift packaging has a second life and can be reused.

Idea 6: Criss-cross

Take two different colours of the wool cord "Dochtfaden" and run them criss-cross over the gift. We have chosen two classics here: Natural white and grey. You can also wrap the gift itself in pure wool felt. Either plain, with an inlaid felt like the felts from our RAW series or the special Money-Maker felt. Go for natural solutions when decorating: Flowers and twigs that match the season make for a particularly good effect.

Idea 7: Fluffy delicate

Give the gift that extra cuddle factor with the 100% virgin sheep wool knitting wool "Lunte". This chunky wool is perfect for finger knitting and crochet, so you can create soft baskets and use them as packaging. Or you can craft a plain felt into a gift bag. The wool cord "Dochtfaden with wire and lurex" with wire forms the straps. The eye-catcher on the felt bag: a little bow made from the knitting wool "Lunte".

Idea 8: With a loop

You want it simple and casual? Then tie an "Organic Band" once crosswise around the gift and make a loose bow. This wool ribbon is slightly wavy and creates a very natural look. Whether it's antique pink, natural white or another colour, the ribbon will set off the gift perfectly. For the gift tag, you can go wild with the "Stylo Decoration Scatter". Simply thread small pieces of wool onto a wire and bend it into a small circle. You can then tie it to your gift with the wool cord "Dochtfaden with wire and lurex" and create a certain glitter effect at the same time.

Idea 9: Let it glitter

Mottled grey and wrapped with a silver thread, the wool cord "Dochtfaden with wire and lurex" in this colour alone adds glamour to your packaging. Combine this cord with one in pale pink wrapped in golden lurex and you've definitely got the wow effect on your side. Wrap them both together a few times around your gift and make little squiggles out of the ends. The wire keeps the wool cords in shape.

Idea 10: Simply romantic

Pale pink, lilac and lavender - a colour combination that is bursting with romance. Wrap the gift in a felt in pale pink, then wrap a thin wool thread like the "Smartfaden" around it crossed a few times so that everything holds together. Then combine two "Flausch Mirabell" wool cords in these colours and the gift will speak volumes. For an extra touch of romance, let it rain flowers and stick a few small roses between the cords.

Upcyling with packaging material

Fabrics, scarves, newspapers, napkins and much more don't have to be thrown away, but can be used as gift wrapping. Add some colourful woollen strings for a fresh look. STYLIT felts are also far too good to throw away: They are not only natural products, but also robust and durable and can and should be reused.

Idea 11: Off to the basket

For this packaging idea, all you need is a box that will hold the gifts, a felt of your choice and one or two woollen cords for gift ribbon. Wrap the felt around the box and fold the ends inside to turn any old shoe box into a beautiful gift box. Place your gifts and loosely wrap the threads around a few times. Our tip: Use wool threads in a colour that contrasts strongly with the felt. This will make the gift basket even more of a highlight.

Idea 12: Delicatessen gift basket

You made your bed, now sleep in it, as the saying goes. What lies in this gift basket lies on everyone's bed as if on clouds. Again, we covered a cardboard box with wool felt and loosely filled the interior between the selected goodies with the loose wool "Flocke" in natural white. Thicker wool cords such as the "RAW" cords, "Flausch Mirabell" or the twisted "Stylo" cords are more suitable as gift ribbon. Whether you work tone-in-tone, like we do here, or with contrasting colours is entirely up to your taste. Cords are available in all colours.

Idea 13: Harmony in grey and red

Cut two strips from a "Klausi" felt in grey. Make sure that the width is the same as the gift. The strip on the outside can be a little wider. Place the two strips crossed over each other, one with the lighter shade of grey and one with the darker shade of grey facing upwards. Place the gift in the middle, take the two felt strips and tie them together at the top with a non-wool "Dochtfaden" cord in black. As a small colour accent, you can also use a cord and a piece of "Lunte" felt wool in scarlet.

Idea 14: Softly upholstered

Work with exciting colour combinations: A single-coloured wool felt in beige or light brown, such as the thin "Ultima" felt, wraps the gift. Choose a two-coloured felt such as "Klausi" or "Franzi" and use it to tie a ribbon in a different colour around the gift. Wrap the parcel with wool ribbons and cords in different thicknesses. The virgin sheep's wool not only makes the gift sustainable, it also feels as soft as a pillow.

Idea 15: Once with pom-poms, please

Whether as a diary, for travel reports or simply as a notebook: small books are a nice gift idea. For the cute packaging, we chose plain coloured felts to match the book cover and tied them with woollen threads. As a little special effect, we made little pom-poms with the felt wool "Lunte" and tied them on the ends. This makes the gift look sweet and playful.
