The choice of colours plays a decisive role in the mood that your Advent table decoration will set. Annick Mertens opts for cool, elegant colours that evoke a sense of both serenity and festivity.

The artful use of colours and materials in this piece gives the Advent table decoration a timeless grace. Soft greys and wintry whites create a peaceful and Christmassy atmosphere. This colour scheme emphasises the classic seasonal beauty of Advent and Christmas and fits in perfectly with the current trend of incorporating nature into decorations.

Reminiscent of a fluffy winter cloud, the sheep's wool felt «Ultima» in light grey creates a sense of cosiness. The use of pine cones and roses adds to the natural feel of the piece.  The combination of the pine branch's lively green and the warm brown of the pine cones gives the table decoration a natural, earthy elegance and evokes the beauty of a winter forest.

This interplay of colours and materials creates an inviting and soothing atmosphere that perfectly captures the spirit of the Christmas Advent season and skilfully showcases the trend towards natural decorations.

Christmas table decoration step by step

Step 1: Attach the wire netting

Start by carefully attaching the wire mesh to the gold metal ring stand. This step will provide a stable base for your Advent table decoration. Be sure to attach the wire securely and evenly to create a solid foundation for your table decoration.

Step 2: Design a felt cloud

Now you can start creating the felt cloud that will be the centrepiece of your Christmas table decoration. Use the light, grey "Ultima" sheep's wool felt to create an ethereal, wintry atmosphere. This step will give your arrangement a distinctive touch. Cut the felt into strips and shape them into a soft winter cloud.

Step 3: Add the fir cones

Add a natural element to the piece by gluing the fir cones along the felt. This step will give your Advent table decoration a unique natural look. Evenly arrange the cones close together to create a balanced look.

Step 4: Add branches and fairy lights

Now carefully wrap a pine branch around the ring of your Advent wreath for an extra dose of naturalness and freshness. Use thin wire to hold the branch in place. Then also wrap the fairy lights around the ring to create an extra festive atmosphere.

Step 5: Add roses and decorate

Complete your floral Advent table decoration by placing glass tubes in the felt cloud and adding the white roses in them for a touch of delicate elegance. Lastly, follow Annick's example and add some woollen «Dochtfaden» string with natural white wire to match the white roses. You can use the piece as a table decoration or as an Advent decoration for the windowsill or sideboard.

This unique Christmas and Advent table or window display will effortlessly spread festive cheer and enchant your clients and their guests. Our professional instructions, inspired by Annick Merten's design, combine cool colours, natural elements and atmospheric lighting. Create unforgettable Christmas celebrations and your very own winter wonderland.

Happy Advent!
