Green of the fir trees
Give your homemade Advent calendar a festive touch with a harmonious choice of colours and materials. The combination of Carmine red, the green of the fir treeswarm Brown-beige and pure White ensures an atmospheric and elegant Advent season.
The Advent calendar bags made of high-quality wool felt come in a vibrant carmine red on the outside and soft white on the inside. This colour scheme brings warmth and elegance to your Advent arrangement. Carmine red creates powerful accents, while the White inside provides a clear, bright contrast.
They are skilfully attached to a frame made of branches, giving the calendar a natural, rustic touch. The warm Brown-beige of the branches harmonises perfectly with the Red of the felt pockets and emphasises the earthy beauty of the material. In addition, decorative twigs with pine needles and small branches give the calendar a fresh touch and emphasise the connection to winter nature.
This tasteful combination of colours and materials not only brings a timeless elegance to your Advent calendar, but also a festive warmth that will enrich your Christmas season.
Step by step
Step 1:
Create felt bags
Cut the wool felt into diamond shapes. Fold these into bags and fix the edges with hot glue. Decorate the bags with green and white "Stylo Scatter" wool snippets, which you can attach to the bags in a scattered pattern.
Step 2:
Build frame
Now build a sturdy frame by arranging several branches in the shape of an "A". Connect the branches using a cordless screwdriver and screws to create a stable construction. Make lots of levels so that you can attach all the felt bags to them later.
Step 3:
Fastening felt bags
Secure the felt bags by wrapping the top part of each bag around a crosswise branch. Then use a toothpick to hold the bag securely in place. Repeat this process for all the felt bags you want to attach to the frame. You can also attach several bags on each level
Step 4:
Tying wooden stars
Tie a piece of the woollen cord "wick thread" around the tip of each wooden star. Use the cord to hang the stars as decorative elements. Repeat this step for all the wooden stars to give the Advent calendar a festive and uniform decoration.
Step 5:
Attach fir branches
Wrap a piece of the green woollen cord "Wick thread mica" around the pine branches. The cord holds the branches together and makes it easy to attach them to the frame. This allows you to integrate the pine branches harmoniously and with a little glitter into the decoration.
Step 6:
Making "calendar doors"
Write the numbers 1-24 for the Advent calendar on small wooden stars. Attach the 24 stars to the felt bags so that they are clearly visible. The combination of felt bags, wooden stars and coniferous branches creates a harmonious and festive look.
Step 7:
Done!
This is what the finished DIY advent calendar should look like. Add the finishing touches to your creation by adding some cones and loose woollen cords. The Advent calendar is now ready to enrich the Advent season and bring joy. And the best thing is: it can be reused year after year.
