The choice of colours and materials plays a major role when it comes to Christmas decorations. Annick Mertens shows how it's done: She opts for bright colours that really accentuate the light from the LED fairy lights, as well as typical winter elements such as cones, but also leaves or white cut flowers.
Like a fresh blanket of snow, the STYLIT sheep's wool felt "Ultima" in natural white over the LED fairy lights and is reminiscent of a snow-covered, illuminated veranda roof on an Advent evening. With the right choice of cones, foliage and a white gerbera, you can enhance the natural effect of the LED Christmas decorations in your shop.
With the STYLIT cord with wire "wick thread" in natural white you can add another great accent to achieve an additional depth effect and flatter the decorative elements such as flowers.
Step by step

Cut out cardboard and felt

Cut opening
The two felt circles form the basis for the LED decoration. In the next step, Annick cuts a circular hole in one of the round felts so that the fairy lights can be placed and the Christmas "filling" also finds a nice spot.
Step 3:
Sew the felt circles together
Now place the round cardboard between the two felt circles and sew the felts together at the edges with white sewing thread. The cardboard will give your Christmas decorations the necessary stability later on.
Step 4:
Fill felt bag
Now fill the resulting felt bag to give it volume and make it shine. To do this, take the white "Ultima" sheep's wool felt again and place the felt strips until your construction has enough volume. You also position your LED lighting inside. The thin "Ultima" sheep's wool felt allows the lights to shine through and creates a warm white lighting atmosphere.

Filling the felt base
Now fill the opening with Christmas accessories. Reach for various cones, grasses and flowers. Annick has used a fresh gerbera in a glass tube as an eye-catcher. Fix the decorative elements with hot glue and make sure that the switch for the LED lighting is accessible yet hidden.
Step 7:
Finalise decoration
The felt pockets filled in this way look like gently piled snow and the warm white lighting creates an atmospheric Christmas feeling. The sturdy glued decoration holds the glass tube with the white gerbera in place. Finally, Annick places the woollen cord heart. You can use this illuminated Christmas decoration as a table decoration, in the entrance area or as a window decoration, for example.
