15 sustainable gift packages made from felt

Customers expect professional, unusual gift packaging from their florist. We want to help you showcase your gifts. Take a look at 15 great packaging ideas that are sure to more than satisfy your customers and are both creative and sustainable.
Idea 1:
Valuably packaged
Whatever you give as a gift, make it even more valuable with this special packaging! Because our "Money Maker" sheep's wool felt is full of cash. Real € money snippets give it this noble lustre and thus also your gift. Simply use it like normal gift wrapping or cut out specific shapes from it that you can stick onto your wrapping paper. Use a natural jute string to hold everything together.

Idea 2:
Make it colourful
Take all the colours of the rainbow and put them together to create a colourful gift box. Cut small circles, rectangles or whatever shape you like from your felt. For example, our gift is for passing a driving test and we have also cut out a stack of felt keys. Make a small hole in the centre and tie everything together with a woollen cord or jute thread. Your colourful gift artwork will be the colourful highlight of any party.
Idea 3:
Simple elegance
Simple, but with that certain something - you can easily conjure this up with our "Glimmer wick thread" cord with wire. Wrap gifts with a single-coloured paper of your choice and create glittery moments with the lurex wool cord. Simply wrap the cord around your gift a few times and tie a knot at the front. You can let the ends hang down loosely. You can add a dried flower as a little extra.

Idea 4:
For the chick
Are you looking for a packaging idea to celebrate the birth of a child or a christening? How about a chick made from pink and pale pink felt? Cut out the shape from our "Klausi" sheep's wool felt in dusky pink, for example, and simply shape the feet using the "Glimmer wick thread" cord with wire. This has a wire at its core, which makes it easy to bend and keeps its shape. Or combine a single-coloured felt in pale pink with one in cornflower blue to make a small parcel. You can tie the bow at the top with the thin woollen cord "Smartfaden" in the same colours. Our tip: Make a small flower with the "Lunte" felting wool. It will be a real eye-catcher. | Design by Elisabeth Wiedenmann, Arona Khan
Idea 5:
Woollen flowers
Let your floral creativity run wild. You can bend countless shapes with the "Glimmer wick thread" cord with wire. Thanks to the wire core, the cord stays exactly in the shape you want. Whether roses, buds or star-shaped flowers - the wire makes everything possible. The sheep's wool cord with lurex is available in numerous colours. Leaves can be added to the flowers with plain or two-coloured felt and the decoration for a special gift package is finished. | Design by Iris Oppermann

Decorate with gift tags
Tip
You can make hearts, flowers and much more out of felt or with felt cut-outs. They give your packaging that little bit extra. You can also make tags that can be reused as jewellery tags, like the tags in our Christmas packaging below. This way, your sustainable gift wrapping has a second life and can be reused.

Idea 6:
Criss-cross
Take two different colours of wool cord "wick thread" and run them criss-cross over your gift. We have opted for two classic colours here: Natural white and grey. You can also wrap the gift itself in a virgin wool felt. Either single-coloured, with an inlay such as the felts from our RAW series or the special sheep's wool felt "Money Maker". Go for natural solutions when decorating: Flowers and twigs to match the season create a particularly good effect. | Design by Konni van Delft

Idea 7:
Fluffy and soft
Give every gift that extra cosy factor with the "Lunte" felting wool made from 100 % virgin sheep's wool. This chunky wool is perfect for finger knitting and crocheting, so you can conjure up soft baskets and use them as packaging. Or you can make a gift bag with a single-coloured felt. The cord with "Glimmer wick thread" wire forms the straps. The eye-catcher on the felt bag: a small bow made from the "Lunte" felt wool.
Idea 8:
With loop
Do you want it simple and casual? Then tie an "Organic" felt ribbon crosswise around the gift and make a loose bow. This woollen ribbon is slightly wavy, creating a very natural look. Whether dusky pink, natural white or another colour, the ribbon sets the gift off perfectly. For the gift tag, you can let off steam with the "Stylo Scatter" wool scraps. Simply thread small pieces of wool onto a wire and bend it into a small circle. You can then tie it to the gift with a "Glimmer wick thread" wool cord and create a certain glitter effect at the same time.

Idea 9:
Let it sparkle
Mottled grey and wrapped with a silver thread, the cord with "Glimmer wick thread" wire in this colour alone will simply add glamour to your packaging. If you then combine this cord with a pale pink cord wrapped in gold lurex, you will definitely have the wow effect on your side. Wrap both around your gift a few times and create little curlicues from the ends. The wire keeps the wool cords in shape. | Design by Neil Whittaker
Idea 10:
Simply romantic
Pale pink, lilac and lavender - a colour combination that is bursting with romance. Wrap the gift in a felt in pale pink, then wrap a thin "Smartfaden" woollen cord around it a few times in a criss-cross pattern to hold everything together. Then combine two "Flusch Mirabell" wool cords in these colours and your gift will speak volumes. For an extra romantic touch, make it rain flowers and stick a few small roses between the cords.

Tip!
Upcycling with packaging material
Tip
Fabrics, cloths, newspapers, napkins and much more don't have to be thrown away, but can be used as gift wrapping. Add a fresh look with colourful woollen cords. The STYLIT felts are also far too good to throw away: Not only are they natural products, they are also robust and durable and can and should be reused.

Idea 11:
Off to the basket
All you need for this packaging idea is a box that fits all the presents, a felt of your choice and one or two woollen cords as a ribbon. Wrap the felt around the box and fold in the ends - any old shoe box becomes a beautiful gift box. Place the presents and wrap the strings around loosely a few times. Our tip: Use woollen threads in a colour that contrasts strongly with the felt. This will make your gift basket even more of a highlight.

Idea 12:
Delicatessen gift basket
As they say, you make your bed, so you lie in it. What lies in this gift basket is like lying on clouds. Once again, we have lined a cardboard box with wool felt and loosely filled the space between the selected treats with "Flocke" loose wool in natural white. Thicker wool cords such as the "RAW" cords, "Flausch Mirabell" or the milled "Stylo" cords are more suitable as gift ribbons. Whether you work tone on tone - as we do here - or with contrasting colours is entirely up to your taste. Cords are available in all colours.
Idea 13:
Harmony in grey and red
Cut two strips from a "Klausi" sheep's wool felt in grey. Make sure that the width is the same as that of the gift. The strip on the outside can be a touch wider. Now lay the two strips crossed over each other, with the lighter shade of grey facing upwards and the darker shade facing downwards. Place the gift in the centre, take the two felt strips and tie them together at the top with a cord and black "wick thread" wire. As a small colour accent, you can also use a cord and a piece of "Lunte" felt wool in scarlet red. | Design by Arona Khan

Idea 14:
Soft padding
Work with exciting colour combinations: A single-coloured wool felt in beige or light brown, such as the thin sheep's wool felt "Ultima", wraps the gift. Go for a two-coloured felt such as "Klausi" or "Franzi" and tie a ribbon in a contrasting colour around the parcel. Wrap the parcel with woollen ribbons and cords in different thicknesses. The virgin sheep's wool not only ensures that the gift is wrapped sustainably, it also feels as soft as a cushion. | Design by Sabina Segula
Idea 15:
One with a bobble please
Whether as a diary, for travel reports or simply as a notebook: small books are a lovely gift idea. We have chosen single-coloured felt to match the colour of the book cover and tied it with woollen threads to create a cute package. For a little special effect, we made little pom-poms with the "Lunte" felt wool and tied them to the ends. This makes the gift look sweet and playful.
